Luna Piena offers its customers a warm welcome, somewhere to relax and unwind a short-distance away from the hurly-burly of the harbour, enjoy a drink in the peaceful surroundings and a meal from the extensive restaurant menu.

We aim to bring you the best of Passionate Italian Cuisine along with some strong Yorkshire influences and great Yorkshire ingredients too. We source all the fresh produce used in our restaurant from local fish-mongers, farms & butchers; for example all of our meat is supplied by Radfords of Sleights and the award-winning smoked & Oak-roasted salmon we serve is supplied by Whitby Seafish of Sleights.

All of our chefs have been intensively trained by a Sicilian head-chef with over 30 years experience - so you will get the best of authentic, Passionate Italian Cuisine with a modern, Yorkshire twist.

Every meal is freshly cooked to order - to give you exactly what you want in your meal!

We change our menus regularly so you should always find something new when you return - but if there's anything you really fancy that we don't have listed, just ask! the rule of the house is "as long as we have the ingredients & you have the time to wait for it making, we will make it for you!"

PRIVATE DINING / FUNCTIONS

We are delighted to be able to offer a PRIVATE DINING option for parties for up to 30 for formal dining or up to 40 for less formal buffet/canape stye events. Our private dining option has proven to be very popular. Please contact us if you want more information. We can serve food from our A La Carte menu for you, or we can offer you a special menu, designed with your particular function in mind if that suits you more.

LUNCHTIME @ Luna

At Lunchtime, through to Early Evening (6pm) we serve our great-value Early Bird Menu as well as offering our you a range of Italian sweet & savoury snacks, home-made treats and our full A La Carte menu or, if you just fancy something a drink, we serve what we believe to be the best coffee in town - perfectly made in the Italian way!

Children are very welcome here at Luna Piena. So much so that we give them just as many choices as Mum & Dad....

We believe that many places do children a disservice, giving them tired old choices of not very appealing dishes. Would you want to eat the things your kid gets offered in most places???

Here at Luna Piena we believe they deserve better, fresher choices; so we don't have a "kids menu" - Our waiting staff will talk with you & your child & find out what they like, and what they want to eat when you're visiting us; then our chefs will cook your child the meal that they fancy!

We'll do it in a child-friendly size, cooked fresh every time, just like we do for the adult meals. Because they're getting a great meal of just what they fancy, we find that they are happier, feel more included in the whole expereince - and will enjoy their meal far more!!! Which then means that parents can relax & enjoy their meal out a lot more too.
